In Karnataka, a kilogramme of tomatoes may now cost anything from Rs 120 to Rs 150.

Unknown thieves stole 2,000 kilogrammes of tomatoes from a truck in Bengaluru on July 10, according to local police.

On July 8th, a crime was committed in the area of the RMC Yard police station, which is close to Chikkajala.

The police said the farmer was on his way to sell his goods at the Kolar market from Hiriyur town in Chitradurga.

The three criminals followed closely behind the tomato car.

They then waylaid the car, said they had been struck, and attacked the farmer and the driver.

They made a demand for funds and then had the money sent to their phone.

The thieves then got into the car with the tomatoes and sped off, leaving the farmer and the driver behind.

The RMC Yard Police are scouring surveillance video for leads on the perpetrators.
