16 June, Srinagar: The local Child Welfare Committee (CWC) rescued 13 kids from a Bypass orphanage today.

Dr. Khair-un-Nissa, chairman of the CWC in Srinagar, has claimed that she rescued children from an orphanage in Bypass after receiving an anonymous information.

Police have reported that one inmate at the orphanage has died under suspicious circumstances. When I first saw the orphanage, I warned the owner that he was breaking the law by operating there. She said, “He has been mistreating the inmates, and we will be taking action against him.”

Institutions for caring for children have the responsibility of giving the kids a home away from home. These institutions house kids who have been abandoned, surrendered, orphaned, abused, or caught up in armed conflict. She said, “For the children that are registered, we offer options such as sponsorship, adoption, and foster care.
