Kishtwar, June 26: On the occasion of International Drug Day, the Tehsil Legal Services Committee of Kishtwar sponsored an awareness workshop.
SDM Higher Secondary School in Kishtwar played host to the event, which was held there. The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Kishtwar, Mahmud Anwar Alnasir, who was also the Chief Guest on this occasion, presided over the event and served as the Chief Guest. At the aforementioned event, the individuals Naveed DyLADC and Anjali Gulati, as well as Suman Advocate, served as resource people.
A combined total of around two hundred male and female students took part in the awareness campaign. The discussions were attended by the students, who took an active role in them. The faculty and staff of the school were there as well.
On this particular occasion, the speakers emphasised the need of maintaining a cautious and attentive attitude against drug dealers who operate near school campuses. The Chairman of the TLSC, Alnasir, urged the students not to give in to the allure of the enticing bids that are made to students to be couriers for the purpose of earning some quick money. They have to protect themselves from negative influences and serve as their own models at the same time.
“Kishtwar has more than 27 cases of Narcotics (NDPS) that involve younger people, and this does not include cases that involve commercial quantities of drugs that are pending before this Sessions Court.”
