Visit to Jammu & Kashmir by Union Home Minister Amit Shah would be packed with key engagements, including laying the foundation stone for the ‘Balidan Stambh’ monument in Srinagar. Shah will be in Kashmir for two days before the start of the annual Amarnath Yatra in the Himalayas of Kashmir.

Shah will first pay respects to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s monument in Jammu’s Trikuta Nagar neighbourhood. After that, he would launch other improvement projects in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, and then lay the cornerstone for CFSL in Samba.

After completing his duties in Jammu and Kashmir, Shah will go to Srinagar to inaugurate and lay the cornerstones for a number of further infrastructure projects. He will also be visiting the SKICC in Srinagar for the 5:30 p.m. “Vitasta Mahotsav,” which is being hosted by the Ministry of Culture.

The second day of his trip will see Shah lay the cornerstone for the ‘Balidan Stambh’ monument, a symbolic pillar built to honour the brave achievements of the security personnel. Pratap Park in Srinagar will serve as the site of this monumental memorial.

It should be noted that Amit Shah had previously assessed the security and other plans for the approaching Amarnath Yatra in a high-level conference in the national capital on June 9, in cooperation with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, prior to his visit.

The importance of the Home Minister’s visit to the area stems from the government’s dedication to progress, safety, and recognition of the contributions of the military.
