Banihal, 26 June: International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was sponsored by the Banihal Police Department at the old Bus stop in Banihal in conjunction with the Beopar Mandal Banihal, a local non-governmental organisation staffed entirely by volunteers.
Banihal’s Senior District Police Officer Nisar Khoja, the town’s president, the head of the Beopar Mandal, and other prominent citizens all spoke out against drug usage and trafficking at this event. Respectable Banihal residents complimented the efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department.
SDPO Banihal Nisar Khoja later reassured the people that he will take a zero-tolerance approach to fighting drug misuse and other crimes. He pleaded with the people to report crimes to the authorities.
