On Thursday, police and security personnel apprehended two terrorist associates belonging to the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in the Frestihar region of Kreeri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla.

“Acting on specific information regarding the movement of terrorists in village Frestihar Kreeri, Police along with 29 RR of the Army set up a check point at Frestihar Waripora crossing in Kreeri,” stated a statement published by J&K Police. During the inspection, the combined party caught and captured two suspects who attempted to leave the checkpoint but were apprehended discreetly.”

Suhail Gulzar, son of Ghulam Muhammad Sheikh of Frestihar, Kreeri, and Waseem Ahmad Pata, son of Ghulam Qadir Pata of Hadipora Rafiabad, were named in the statement.

It said that weapons and ammunition, including two Chinese handguns, two pistol magazines, 15 pistol rounds, and other incriminating evidence, were found from their possession during a search.
