Srinagar, November 27: By taking home the gold medal in the esteemed Pre-teen National Pencak Silat Championship 2023–24, a student from Kashmir has brought honors to the Union Territory.

Sheikh Anusha, a native of Rajwar in the Handwara region and a student in the Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School’s 6th Standard, took home the gold medal in the renowned Pre-teen National Pencak Silat Championship 2023–24, which took place at Pataliputra Sports Stadium in Patna, Bihar.

From November 23 to November 26, there was a championship.


In her first try, Anusha won the gold medal in her weight class (34 to 36 kg), handily defeating her more seasoned opponents by a wide margin.

This year at the Indoor Sports Stadium in Srinagar, the athlete earlier won a bronze medal at the interstate level.
