Jammu, December 22: To assess the state of preparations for the massive Republic Day festivities in 2024, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo convened a conference today with the senior brass of the civil and police administrations.

The Chief Secretary urged the relevant divisional administrations to start planning ahead for event planning at the panchayat level in order to hold them in an appropriate way. In order to generate the proper type of excitement among people, he urged adding a lot of events before this event. He emphasized the need to bring life to every event hosted by panchayats across the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Dulloo said that the government needs to provide schoolchildren with enough time to rehearse for as many concerts as they have scheduled. He urged giving them all the help they needed to go to the locations during this winter. He even requested that more sanitary and healthful refreshments be made available to them.

Additionally, the Chief Secretary stressed the need to create a traffic strategy that is less taxing and convoluted for the general public. Additionally, he requested that extra frisking booths be added to the location, especially for the elderly and school-age children, to ensure that they do not have any difficulties while trying to enter.

In both Jammu and Srinagar, he oversaw the adornment and lighting of all the rotaries and other public structures. He demanded that unique plans be made in order to instill a festive mood in J&K’s towns and smart cities.

The Chief Secretary suggested highlighting the accomplishments in Jal Jeevan Mission, Mission Shakti (Education), Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Sports, Swachh Bharat Mission, and Nasha Mukht J&K Mission for the tableau that will be presented during the major events in Jammu and Srinagar.

The Chief Secretary noted the departments’ backup plans and preparations for electricity, water, sanitation, and public address system facilities at the locations during the event. In addition, he requested that infallible security measures be put in place in addition to the heavy deployment of medical personnel and fire fighters.

The Divisional Commissioners and Commissioner Secretary GAD informed the gathering of the plans that needed to be made in order to ensure that Republic Day festivities in both cities went off without a hitch. Additionally, they promised to do all the preparations well in advance, ensuring that the day is celebrated joyfully and amazingly across J&K.
