Bhaderwah, December 1: Due to yesterday’s intense snowfall in the upper parts of the Bhadarwah valley, the government was forced to decide to block the interstate routes connecting Bhadarwah with Pathankot and Bhadarwah with Chamba.

Due to the new snowfall on Thursday, ADC Dilmir Choudhary reported that the Bhadarwah-Chamba route, which connects Jammu and Kashmir with Himachal Pradesh, and the Bhadarwah-Pathankot alternative national highway, which links the UT with Punjab, were both closed.

Overnight snowfall totaled between two and three feet on the Bhaderwah-Pathankot highway, which has its highest point at Chattergalla, which is situated twelve thousand feet above sea level, and the interstate route that runs between Bhaderwah and Chamba, which passes via the 11,800-foot Padri Gali pass. The extra-district administration decided to shut down certain routes in order to protect travelers and passengers.

The well-known Guldanda meadow, which is situated on the Bhaderwah-Pathankot route, was seen by a sizable number of visitors from throughout the nation relishing the new snow despite the road restrictions. In order to handle the surge of tourists, the authorities had removed the snow from this popular location.
