Dec. 23, Srinagar (KNS): Senior BJP politician and party spokesperson Altaf Thakur said today that J&K has come a long way, from the threat of terrorism to the boom in tourism, and that everyone is happy and living in a free environment now.

According to Thakur, who released a statement through KNS, security agencies began a 360-degree strategy on August 5, 2019, at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, to eradicate terrorism from J&K. As a result, local terrorist recruitment has completely stopped, street violence has completely disappeared, law and order issues have also completely stopped, and the percentage of people killed by security forces and civilians in roadside encounters and other incidents has dropped to less than 10%. Though Pakistan continues to send infiltrators who assault soldiers, as witnessed in Poonch and Rajouri, Thakur said that attempts are being made to sow discord from all directions. However, as was previously seen, those infiltrators will be brought to justice.

To eradicate the threat of terrorism from Kashmiri territory, valiant warriors are displaying extraordinary bravery. According to Thakur, JK saw a boom in tourism as terrorism began to fade, with over 4 million visitors coming to the state in the previous two years. Currently, Gulmarg and Pahalgam are completely “sold out” for Christmas and New Year’s. Since more than 55,000 foreigners have visited Kashmir so far, the number of international visitors has increased. After completing this trip in only three years, JK is now proudly reaching new heights in tourism and terrorism. (KNS
