Pluto’s status in the solar system has been lowered to a ‘dwarf planet’ from the full-fledged ninth planet of the solar system, yet it remains dear to people’s hearts. NASA released a snapshot of Pluto earlier this week, showing a heart-shaped glacier on its surface.

NASA captioned this shot on Instagram, “Our New Horizons spacecraft captured this heart-shaped glacier.” It is located on Pluto’s surface, which also includes mountains, cliffs, valleys, craters, and plains assumed to be formed of methane and nitrogen ice. Pluto is located in the Kuiper belt, a donut-shaped area of frozen planets relics from our solar system’s early days, beyond Neptune’s orbit. The little ice planet lies 3.7 billion miles (5.9 billion km) from the Sun on average, but its oval-shaped orbit may send Pluto closer to the Sun than Neptune at its closest point, increasing the scant atmosphere as it draws closer to our Sun.”
