Speaking to the media in Srinagar, Mehbooba expressed regret over the reported deaths of three people in Poonch who had been brutally assaulted before having their corpses dumped on the roadways by security personnel.

“Unarmed civilians were brutally beaten by security personnel before having their corpses dumped on the road. To uncover the truth, this occurrence requires a thorough investigation. Mehbooba said, “We hope the government led by the LG will step in and ensure justice for the victim families. Those responsible should be brought to justice.”

She continued by saying that the government must compensate the relatives of the dead and wounded until the investigation is finished. “These are low-income families who have lost loved ones. Many more are fighting for their lives in hospitals. I urge the LG administration to provide compensation of 50 lakhs to those who were slain and 5 lakhs to those who were wounded. This will at least make criminals understand that their acts are unacceptable,” the woman said. (KNS)
