Srinagar, June 26: On Monday, police in the Kanikadal neighbourhood of old Srinagar city detained a man on allegations that he had been “practising” as a dentist without holding the appropriate licence.
According to official sources, law enforcement and health authorities, together with the Magistrate, worked together to shut down the phoney dentistry business. When the police requested the ‘false’ doctor who ran the clinic in the crowded area to present a licence or appropriate certificate to support his practise, he did not comply.
According to our sources, a team commanded by SHO Shaheed Gunj Basharat Ali and Zonal Medical Officer Dr. Shafkat, together with Tahsildar South Moeen Azhar Kakroo, conducted a search and locked the clinic after receiving information of suspicious activity there. The individual who was pretending to be a doctor has been taken into custody.
According to the police, the clinic may be found in a residential neighbourhood in the Kanikadal neighbourhood of Srinagar.
The quack is the subject of an official police report with the number 50/2023 that was filed under Section 420.
Moeen Azhar Kakroo, who serves as the Tahsildar of South, has said unequivocally that the police had boarded up the clinic. He said that he was there in his capacity as a magistrate.
