Ganderbal, Nov 18: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, who is also an Electoral Roll Observer, held a meeting to examine the current Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls today at the VC Room, Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.
The conference was attended by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Deputy Executive Officer (DEO) Shyambir, ADC, ACR, EROs, AEROs, and other district authorities. Representatives from several registered political parties were also present during the conference.
During the meeting, the DC updated the chair on the status of the current work on the Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls for 2023.
The Div Com undertook a detailed examination of the district’s progress under the ongoing SSR 2023, analyzing the number of new applications for inclusion as well as other claims and objections.
He highlighted the significance of following the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) instructions and asked the relevant EROs and AEROs to perform modifications as soon as possible in accordance with the stated timetable.
The chair emphasized the necessity of EROs working together via various awareness activities under the SVEEP program to urge all eligible young voters to register their names in electoral registers, ensuring that no eligible voter stays unregistered.
The Divisional Commissioner also thanked leaders from different political parties for attending the conference and emphasized the critical function of Booth-Level Agents.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner, along with DC Ganderbal, visited Gagangir, Sonamarg, to assess the work progress of the Z-morh tunnel and the Zojila tunnel and advocate for prompt completion of both projects.
