A number of young surgeons and fellows have been selected by the Vattikuti Foundation to share their surgical advances at the conference. They are Dr. Aditya Kulkarni of Ruby Hall Clinic, Dr. Kushal Agarwal of Aster Hospital, Dr. Jayanth Hulagi of Narayana Health System, and Dr. Karandeep Guleria of Max Super Specialty Hospital.

According to a release from the foundation, among the doctors speaking at the conference who perform robotic surgery in non-metropolitan Indian cities are Dr. Priyadarshi Ranjan of the Meliora Kidney Institute in Kharar, Punjab, and Dr. Subhash Khanna of the Swagat Super Specialty Surgical Hospital in Guwahati.

In the rapidly expanding area of robotic surgery, they will concentrate on practises supported by evidence.

According to Dr Mahendra Bhandari, CEO of the Vattikuti Foundation, “continuing with the emphasis on innovation, the symposium will commence with a session on “Why and how of surgical innovation” by Dr Sherry M. Wren, Vice Chair and Professor of Surgery, Stanford University.

Following it, Dr. Ahmed Ghazi, Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery at Johns Hopkins University, will talk on “State of the Art Surgical Simulation.” Bhandari also serves as the director of robotic research and education at the Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan’s Vattikuti Urology Institute.

The seminars will focus on deep learning techniques for automatically creating 3D virtual models, augmented reality navigation, and AI support and error comprehension.

The event will be opened by Raj Vattikuti, who established the Vattikuti Foundation in 1997 to promote minimally invasive robotic surgery and to train a pool of robotic doctors.
