Baramulla, 25 Aug. The Public Safety Act (PSA) and the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT-NDPS Act) have both been used to charge up to fifty-four infamous drug dealers in the Baramulla region, according to authorities on Friday.

“54 drug traffickers have been arrested in the Baramulla area under the PIT-NDPS Act and PSA. According to Jammu and Kashmir police, these hard-core drug dealers were active in the Uri, Pattan, Baramulla, Kreeri, and Tangmarg subdivisions.

In the past, the Baramulla Police attached the assets of drug traffickers, including two homes, three cars, and cash totaling Rs. 41.72 lakhs in Pattan, Kreeri, and Kamalkote, totaling 68.65 lakhs.

In addition, a police announcement said that SAFEM (FOP) A & NDPSA, New Delhi verified the Baramulla Police’s attachment of property (Illegally obtained property by drug traffickers) orders at Pattan and Kreeri, where a home and car were attached.

Locals in the region applauded Baramulla Police’s action in attaching moveable and immovable property that drug traffickers in the area had raised or utilised for unlawful trafficking.

According to the press release, people demonstrated their desire to assist police in their efforts to rid society of the drug threat. This is the true test of a police department’s public relations efforts.
