Nov. 25, Nagpur: According to an official, a joint Jammu and Kashmir and Nagpur police squad detained two teenagers on Saturday for allegedly kidnapping a 15-year-old girl from the Union Territory and transporting her to Maharashtra.

The juvenile, a student in Class 10, reportedly had a romantic connection with Mohd Muddasir Hussain, a 19-year-old accused, according to the Sitabuldi police of Nagpur city.

Allegedly, Muddasir promised to wed the girl and provide employment for her in Hyderabad. After leaving J&K, Muddasir, his cousin Mohd Yasir Hussain Shaheen (19), and the girl went first to Delhi. The official said that they arrived in Nagpur aboard a train on Saturday.

He claimed that a team of J&K police officers and their Nagpur counterparts arrested the young men at the train station. Muddasir is a native of J&K’s Kishtwar area, whereas Yasir lives in the Doda district.

He said the girl has been moved to a government hostel in Nagpur while the J&K police continue their inquiry.
