A Board of Directors meeting is held for the first time at the SKUAST-K incubation center

Srinagar, November 9, 2017: The SKUAST-K Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship (SKIIE) Center’s inaugural board of directors meeting took place on Thursday at the Discovery Building on the Shalimar campus. The purpose of the meeting was to approve the work schedule in accordance with the mandate and explore future directions.

According to a statement, Dr. Praveen Roy, the Head of Scientific Divisions in the Department of Sciences and Technology (DST) of the Government of India, and Dr. Naveed Vasishta, the Consultant DST, were also present at the Board of Directors meeting, in addition to the board members Prof. Azmat Alam Khan, OSD to Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Dr. Farhet A. Shaheen, associate professor, School of Agriculture Economics, SKUAST-K, and Naveed Hamid, Chief Executive Officer of the SKIIE Center.

The Inclusive Technology Business Incubation (ITBI) National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI) scheme is what allows the SKIIE Centre, which was founded as a Section 8 company of SKUAST-K, to receive funding from the DST in order to promote an innovative and entrepreneurial culture among students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and the surrounding communities.

Meeting proceedings were led by Naveed Hamid, CEO of SKIIE Center. The board members were informed by him of the current state and advancements in the field of incubation and startups, as well as the innovative approaches used by the SKIIE Center to rank #1 among all universities in J&K UT in the DST J&K UT innovation and entrepreneurship ranking.

The CEO of the SKIIE Center was tasked with overseeing the streamlining of newly sanctioned incubators in the Kashmir area in order to facilitate their incubation operations. The DST team was pleased with this initiative.

In the BoD meeting, Prof. Azmat Alam, chairing the committee, evaluated the university’s accomplishments in innovation, incubation, and entrepreneurship with the support of the SKIIE Center.

Upon the conclusion of the assembly, Dr. Farhet A. Shaheen offered a vote of gratitude.

Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K, was later met by the DST team under the direction of Dr. Praveen Roy. In order to establish SKUAST-K as the nation’s first innovation-led agriculture university, he evaluated the DST team’s efforts.
