The instructor, the girl said, had long been tormenting her and her students, but today he went too far and forcefully removed her hijab.

The youngster said that she had already spoken with her parents about the matter of harassment. “On one occasion, when my mother visited the school regarding the matter, the accused lecturer confronted and shouted at her and questioned her presence on the school premises” , she said.

The girl said that despite her frequent reports of this problem to the school’s principal and other staff members, nothing was ever done about it.

A police officer said that a complaint has been filed at Bandipora Police Station under Sections 354 IPC and 9/10 POCSO Act, and that further investigation is ongoing. (KNO)
