Sopore, Oct. 14: On Saturday, a major Naat competition was conducted to honour the holy and fortunate month of Rabi-ul-Awwal in a wonderful event put on by the Government Boys Higher Secondary School Sopore in association with the Zonal Education Office Sopore.

Many students, academics, poets, authors, and social workers from different high schools and upper secondary schools in the Sopore educational zone participated in the event.

The Zonal Education Officer for Sopore, Abdul Salam Dar, joined the distinguished principal of the Govt Higher Secondary School Hygam, Muhammad Ibrahim Shah, in preside over the Naat gathering.

Shabeer Ahmad Shabeer, a renowned scholar, poet, and critic, gave a perceptive lecture on the value of the Prophet’s life story and the role of Naat in educating the audience.

The institution’s head, Mushtaq Sopori, gave the competitors and visitors heartfelt congratulations and said that the Naat tournament was a showcase for the students’ skills and a way to develop them.

He stressed the importance of these programmes in developing students’ capacities for difficult situations in the future.

He also stressed the need for future organisers of these initiatives.

With their mesmerising vocals, the Naat tournament competitors enchanted the audience and won their hearts.

Students who performed very well were given special rewards in recognition of their remarkable abilities. Additionally, awards were given to each and every Naat tournament competitor.

Amina Akhtar, a senior lecturer, performed her duties as moderator of the Naat event with the greatest care.
