Residents of the area mounted a demonstration to complain about the lack of a fire station.

According to government and local sources in Jammu, five stores were destroyed by fire on Friday in the Mahore region of the Reasi district.

According to GNS, a fire started at 7:30 a.m. in Mahore’s main market, damaging five stores, three of them significantly, before it was brought under control by police, civilians, and the Army’s 58 RR.

At the time this report was issued, an official assessment of the value of the destroyed goods was not available.

A police officer said that investigations have begun to determine that a short circuit was the cause of the incident.

Residents of Mahore, who are concerned about the potential for future fire-related deaths and property damage, have protested the lack of a fire station in the area.
