Police in Rajouri, India, said on August 9 that they had apprehended a local young guy and found a stash of drugs and money on him.

Police said in a statement that they had arrested a guy and retrieved a shipment of narcotics and over Rs 1.5 lakh cash from his hands on Tuesday, continuing their operation against narcotics peddlers in an effort to curb the distribution of illegal substances.

Vikal Choga @Viku, son of Vimal Choga, was an inhabitant of Rajouri town’s ward 9.

When an Ecco vehicle was stopped for frisking at Saranoo Dhangri, a squad led by Deputy SP Headquarter Rajouri Mudassir Hussain and included SHO Rajouri Aejaz Ahmed Wani and other police officers conducted the search.

Suspicion led to a search of the car, which resulted in the recovery of a drugs shipment and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash in the presence of the Executive Magistrate. The police have confiscated drugs and money. Police in Rajouri have opened an inquiry after a report was filed under the applicable laws. Supt. Rajouri Amritpal Singh reaffirmed the police force’s dedication to eliminating the drug problem in the region.

According to him, a considerable quantity of drugs and narcotics have been recovered during recent arrests and detentions in the area.
