An IndiGo pilot who was supposed to fly from Nagpur to Pune on Thursday, August 17 passed out at the airport.
According to a press release from IndiGo, he was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Earlier afternoon, one of our pilots tragically passed away in Nagpur. Sadly, he passed tragically shortly after being brought to the hospital after falling ill at the Nagpur airport. IndiGo expressed their “thoughts and prayers” for his loved ones, “at this time.”
The pilot’s name and other identifying information were not immediately available.
The pilot worked numerous sectors yesterday and slept for 27 hours before reporting for duty today.
Yesterday, at an unspecified hour between the hours of three and seven in the morning, “the stated Pilot operated, two sectors between Trivandrum and Pune and Nagpur. After that I slept for 27 hours straight before today’s scheduled departure of 4 sectors at 1 pm. “His 1st Sector flight was scheduled to leave from Nagpur,” the airline wrote. (ANI)
