The Secretary of Information Technology for the Union Territory of Ladakh, Amit Sharma, led an important review session on September 6 in Leh. The event focused on Aadhaar saturation, the distribution of ECMP kits, and the Door-to-Door Survey in the region of the Union Territory of Ladakh.

During the meeting, the Aadhaar Manager gave a comprehensive presentation, which focused on essential elements such as the Aadhaar Status in UT Ladakh as of June 30, estimated district-wise Aadhaar status, functioning Aadhaar centres, and the involvement of the Department of Health. The update focused on recording inhabitants in chosen blocks using door-to-door surveys, the construction of a state government site to simplify verification for new participants aged > 18, and the submission of crucial documents by residents. Door-to-door surveys were employed. The condition of the state portal, the needed activities, ICT support, Section-7 notifications by the UT Government, and strategic focus areas were all topics that were brought up in subsequent meetings.

During the course of an in-depth discussion, Secretary Amit Sharma and the other participants conducted an in-depth investigation into the state of Aadhaar in UT Ladakh, during which they raised and addressed a number of concerns. It was brought to everyone’s attention that there are significant problems, such as discrepancies between the reported and real birth numbers, problems with the distribution of Aadhaar kits, and a lack of operators. During the course of the discussion, Secretary Amit Sharma gave directions in order to pro-actively address these difficulties.
