October 17th, Rajouri A young scientist from Poonch was included in the Stanford University and Elsevier top two percent scientist rankings.


At the moment, Dr. Mohammad Shabaz is an assistant professor at the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology in Jammu.

Dr. Mohammad Shabaz comes from Poonch and earned his B.Tech. in information technology and telecommunication engineering from Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University in Jammu and Kashmir. He then went on to Chandigarh University in Mohali for his master’s and doctorate degrees in computer science engineering.

He is an editor at Neuroscience Informatics (Elsevier) and employed with the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology in Jammu, India.

Dr. Mohammad Shabaz said that he is interested in applying computer science to multidisciplinary fields. He also claimed to have over 200 research articles published in publications that are indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, as well as three Indian and one Australian patent.

“My major work is in the healthcare domain, and his major contributions include the creation of novel algorithms like SA sorting and Shabaz-Urvashi link prediction,” said Dr. Mohammad Shabaz.

Dr. Shabaz is believed to have been named in the top two percent of scientists worldwide published by Stanford University and Elsevier in 2023, together with more than 20 other distinguished scholars from different institutions in J&K, including IITJ, IIMJ, the University of Kashmir, and the University of Jammu.
