A transformer catches fire at Krankshivan Colony in Sopore

Sopore, September 8 (KNO): On Friday night, a transformer caught fire in the Krankshivan Colony neighbourhood of Sopore town in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir.

A 250 KV transformer caught fire in Alamdar neighbourhood of Krankshivan Colony in Sopore town, according to the news source Kashmir News Observer (KNO), leaving a number of homes in the dark.

Locals reported the flames to the Fire and Emergency Services department as soon as they saw them, and then fire tenders arrived and extinguished the fire.

Locals said (KNO), “We have repeatedly advised the department to move this transformer from the specific spot as it may prove dangerous to the mosque as it is close to the vicinity of a local mosque.”
