A woman’s suicide attempt in Sopore was prevented by police

On Friday night, August 11th, authorities in the Sopore area of the Baramulla district of north Kashmir prevented a woman from taking her own life.

The woman was seen by police near the Sopore bypass bridge trying to plunge into the Jhelum, according to an officer.

“After noticing her motion as suspicious police rushed towards her, we stopped her suicide attempt,” he said.

After receiving adequate counseling, the woman will be returned to her family, he said.
