October 17, Rajouri: An army soldier stationed on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri area was killed by a gunshot from his service weapon.
The event happened late last night while an army operation team was on regular duty at a forward site, according to official sources.

They said that the staff member’s gun went off by mistake, hitting him with a bullet.
“He was immediately evacuated to the army medical centre; however, he succumbed to his injuries,” they stated.
According to the official, the legal process has begun, and the body was examined and medical and legal details were taken care of at the sub-district hospital in Mendhar. Police have also begun their investigation in the area around the Mendhar police station.
