6 September, New Delhi, India (ANI): According to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, the G20, which is now regarded as the foremost global forum, is the finest example of how the world is evolving.

Jaishankar said in an exclusive interview with ANI, “Over the many years, particularly certainly over the past decade, probably a little bit more…There have been changes in both nations’ respective political confidence and economic weight. Particularly amongst the big and medium nations, relations have shifted.

“So if you looked at it earlier on, it was like very tight groupings and you let us say, particularly in the Western world, a very strong alliance structure,” he remarked.

Jaishankar emphasised that there are many more independent nations today, whether they are independent on a global, regional, or local scale.

“I believe that the G20 is the finest indication of how the world is evolving…After all, before the G20 was created, we used to leave everything up to the G7. I mean, the G20 is now regarded as the top international forum. Just consider the previous year. Compare the G20 summit with any other event that has taken place, such as a NATO, SCO, BRICS, Quad, or UN conference. Nothing has garnered as much interest and emphasis as a G20 summit does since the world now recognises its special significance, according to Jaishankar.

In response to the question of whether the Russia-China alliance is having a greater effect on other nations, he stated that the modern world is much more multipolar and complex.

“As a result, I advise against seeing everything in terms of black and white or this side vs that group. I’m not denying that other nations have their prejudices and connections. But I believe that the world is considerably more complex than that. There are far more variables, and it is lot more multipolar, according to the foreign affairs minister. (ANI)
