Saturday, the authorities issued a stern warning to coaching institutes that were functioning in the town of Sopore in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir. The coaching institutions had been holding sessions during school hours, which was contrary to official regulations.

An official said that there were a number of complaints lodged against private coaching facilities in the subdivision for holding sessions during school hours, despite the fact that the government had issued very clear regulations in this regard.

He said that as a result of this, an extra deputy commissioner named Sopore SA Raina organised a meeting and invited the principals of all government upper secondary schools, ZEOs, and the heads of all coaching institutes to attend.

“Directions were passed to all of the coaching centres functioning within the sub-division Sopore,” he added. “They were instructed not to take classes of any of the student during the school hours, regardless of whether the student was attending a government or private recognised school.”

During this time, ADC Sopore, SA Raina, revealed to KNO that they would be doing surprise inspections of the coaching institutions, and that those who violate the legal standards will be held accountable in the appropriate manner.

He said that they would not allow any educational institution to operate in a manner that is contrary to the directives that have been issued by the government.(KNO)
