After a delay due to bad weather, the GVEI Khadija Memorial Cricket Cup 2023 continues

October 19, Srinagar: The Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI), which hosts the inter-school cricket competition known as the Khadija Memorial Cricket Cup-2023, started play on Thursday after a brief break due to bad weather.

In two thrilling games, spirited teams displayed their sportsmanship. On Thursday, two contests were held.
IMI Boys took on SSM Higher Secondary School during the morning session. the toss, choosing to field. SSM Higher Secondary School won. In spite of losing seven wickets, IMI was able to score 76 runs in 15 overs. SSM’s reply saw them score 84 runs for the loss of just four wickets and win by a margin of six wickets. Aftab Manzoor of SSM Higher Secondary School received the award for Player of the Match.

In the next game, Legends School of Education competed against New Convent School. After choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Legends School of Education scored an astounding 137 runs in only 15 overs. In 15 overs, New Convent only managed 95 runs while losing six wickets, failing to reach the goal. Barik was recognised as the Man of the Match after Legends School of Education triumphed.

The Khadija Memorial Cricket Cup 2023, according to the school release, will keep providing exciting cricket action on the lush grounds of GVEI.

The sponsors of the competition, which also included PepsiCo, Meerz, Uniform Plus, Landmark Stationers, Urbanac, InFocus, and Red FM, helped to make this event a sports extravaganza.
