Oct. 3, Srinagar: Ajay Kumar Yadav, the inspector general of the CRPF (Srinagar Sector), said on Tuesday that there is no militancy in the district of Srinagar.
“Today, we saw LG Manoj Sinha directing female motorcyclists to Gujarat from Lal Chowk. In addition to participating in counterinsurgency operations, airport security, road opening parties (RoPs), prison security, and other sensitive operations, our female police officers do so as well, Yadav told reporters after kicking off an event involving female CRPF motorcycles from Srinagar to Gujarat.
The IG CRPF said that today’s massive flagging-off function was conducted in the centre of Srinagar when asked whether there was any terrorism in Srinagar. “Where has terrorism gone? The neighbourhood is quiet. There isn’t a more tranquil environment anywhere else, he said.
When asked whether women from Kashmir could join the CRPF, the IG CRPF said, “Yes, Kashmiri women can join the force in any category.” He said that the bike rally symbolises women’s empowerment and proves that they are capable of doing everything they set their minds to. According to news source KNO, he said that this was evidence of women’s emancipation.
