Anantnag, May 29: A biker was murdered and two of his pillion riders were wounded after being struck by a speeding car in the Achabal region of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, according to authorities.

They informed GNS that an unknown car struck a motorbike near Trahpoo Achabal, killing the biker instantly and injuring two of his pillion riders.

The dead motorcyclist was named as Gull Mohammad Ganie, son of Ali Mohammad Ganie, of Tailwani, and the wounded as Mohammad Ashraf Ganie, son of Ghulam Hassan Ganie, and Majid Ahmad Ganie, son of Bashir Ahmad Ganie, both of Kanganhall Achabal.

The wounded pair were sent to GMC Anantnag for treatment.

“The vehicle driver managed to flee the scene before the police arrived,” an official stated.

According to a police officer who confirmed the occurrence, a case has been opened for further investigation.
