There was a large number of Yatris in the Pahalgam base camp, so officials diverted them to Chanderkote.

The 11th batch of the Pahalgam route yatra, consisting of 6035 pilgrims in 194 cars, was stopped and housed at Yatra Niwas Chanderkote in district Ramban for the night due to the overwhelming rush of Yatris, they added.

According to the Yatra control rooms, the Yatra along the Pahalgam route has been suspended, as reported by Nodal Officer Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Ramban and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal Sharma. He assured them that as of Friday am, they would be free to go to Nunwan-Pahalgam.

According to Mohita Sharma, senior superintendent of police in Ramban, the influx of Yatris at the Pahalgam base camp forced the suspension of the Pahalgam route.
