Srinagar, March 27: According to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Dal Lake and Gulmarg would be transformed into important tourist destinations to revive Kashmir’s tourism industry.

Shah told Kashmiris, “I want to tell the people of Kashmir that they should visit Tattoo ground, Dal Lake, and Gulmarg after three years.” He expressed trust in the Modi government’s mission. The destiny of Kashmir will be revealed.” He said the government wants Dal Lake to be “one of the world’s most attractive lakes.”

Shah said, “A Disneyland-like amusement park will be established at Tattoo ground so that tourists can stay there [in Kashmir] for at least 4-5 days.” Gulmarg’s mountains might be decorated for a Davos-like peak, he said.

Shah said, “Once these things are done, there will be a complete change in the discourse of thinking in Kashmir.” People will speak about progress and jobs instead of stone-pelting.” These activities boost Jammu and Kashmiris’ confidence, he said.

Shah addressed Article 370 abrogation myths in an exclusive conversation with Jammu and Kashmir-based Gulistan News. He said, “Article 370 myths are gone. The abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir was supposed to eliminate its culture, language, and identity. Five years have gone with no action.”
