Anantnag, September 11: The Sheep Husbandry Department launched a large-scale awareness campaign distribution event today for sheep producers in the Anantnag area.

Mohammad Yousuf Gorsi, the chairman of the District Development Council (DDC) in Anantnag, was the chief guest, and Bashir Ahmad Wani, the additional district development commissioner in Anantnag, was the guest of honour. Dr Showket Ahmad, the CEO of the Municipality Committee in Anantnag, and Dr Rafiq Ahmad Shah, the chairman of the district level purchase committee, were also in attendance.

Insightful talks and presentations were given by eminent authorities in the fields of animal husbandry and sheep breeding. They exchanged best practises for managing diseases, feeding livestock, and breeding sheep.

Participants got the chance to interact with professionals and have their questions about sheep husbandry answered throughout the workshop. The use of contemporary technologies to sheep husbandry was emphasised. The most recent developments in sheep farming technologies and equipment that may increase production and efficiency were presented to attendees.

Participants received information on market connections and chances to sell their sheep and wool products. With information about market patterns and pricing, this was intended to help breeders.
