Jammu, March 27: Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting & Sports and Youth Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur said Wednesday that BJP ended militancy in J&K, abrogated Article 370 and 35-A, and could revoke AFSPA due to the improvement in situation.

Thakur told the reporters at a bike rally for party candidate and PMO Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh in Udhampur, “It was Congress whose wrong policies brought militancy in J&K. J&K received Article 370 and 35-A, which fostered secession and militancy. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, BJP eliminated militancy in J&K and repealed Article 370 and 35-A, ushered in a new age of revolutionary growth.

With Article 370 repealed and militancy ended, security personnel don’t need to combat cases. Our security forces must combat terrorism. Earlier in this clash, security officers faced legal challenges. With the situation improving, the BJP may remove AFSPA. This is what Union Home Minister Amit Shahji indicated may be considered,” Thakur remarked in response to inquiries concerning AFSPA removal.

Thakur visited Jammu & Kashmir today. He attended the BJP office organizing meeting and a bike rally in Udhampur. Thakur visited IIM Jammu evening. He joined the Radisson Blu Hotel’s Vikas Bharat Ambassador program.

Thakur compared Arvind Kejriwal to RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav in a media interview on Delhi issues. Thakur said that Rabri Devi spoke for Lalu Yadav in the fodder scandal and subsequently took his place, and the same was occurring with Kejriwal.

Kejriwal, formerly a crusader for morals and anti-corruption, is now involved in corruption charges with his Aam Aadmi Party. He said that Kejriwal’s corruption claims shatter records and he still wants to be CM throughout his prison time.

Thakur further attacked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for extending “protection to corrupt individuals and rapists” instead of protecting women in her state.

He said, “Arvind Kejriwal used to say I am against corruption and will not enter politics. However, corruption has engulfed him and his Aam Aadmi Party. This person protested Congress before. Their Deputy Chief Minister, Education Minister, Health Minister, MP, Councillor, and now CM Kejriwal is in prison for corruption. He suffered this due to his chaos and corruption.”
