The temperature in Srinagar dropped to 17.6 degrees Celsius, up from 16.8 the night before.

While the following few days are expected to be mostly dry with the chance of “isolated very light rain and thunderstorm” in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir’s lowest temperature rose on Thursday throughout the region.

The meteorological department source quoted by GNS predicted “intermittent light to moderate rain” for various parts of J&K on July 15-17.

The official said that the low temperature in Srinagar was 17.6 degrees Celsius, which was 0.5 degrees Celsius lower than average for the summer capital, compared to the previous night’s low of 16.8 degrees Celsius.

He said that the temperature at Qazigund, the valley’s main entry point, dropped to 17.0 degrees Celsius rather than the usual 14.5 degrees Celsius the night before.

He said that the temperature at Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, dropped to 10.3 degrees Fahrenheit that night, down from 10.6 the night before and 1.7 degrees Fahrenheit below average.

According to him, the mercury dropped to 15.5 degrees Celsius in Kupwara town last night, up from 14.9 degrees the night before, but still 0.9 degrees Celsius lower than average for the north Kashmir region.

Kokernag’s low temperature was 16.5 degrees Fahrenheit, 0.6 degrees above usual, compared to 14.7 degrees Fahrenheit the night before.

He said that the temperature in Gulmarg, a popular ski destination in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, dropped to an unseasonably cool 11.6 degrees Fahrenheit (-0.2 degrees Celsius) on Sunday night.

When compared to the previous night’s temperature of 27.2 degrees Celsius, Jammu’s low of 25.9 degrees was 1.1 degrees above typical for the winter capital of J&K.

They reported lows of 18.7 degrees in Banihal, 18.5 degrees in Batote, 22.3 degrees in Katra, and 16.3 degrees in Bhaderwah.
