On the occasion of Youm-e-Ashoora, when Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his associates and family members were slain in Karbala, LG spoke with Shia mourners and shared his opinions with them.

Srinagar, July 29: Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir, arrived in the Botakadal neighbourhood of Srinagar’s central business district on Thursday to join the Zuljanah procession of Shia mourners for Youm-e-Ashura.

Witnesses said that LG Sinha arrived in Srinagar’s Bota Kadal neighbourhood and joined the Zuljanah march. “He gave Zuljanah chaddar and lavishly honoured Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) at the time. He also gave the mourning drinks and gave them his entire support, they claimed.

At approximately 11 am, LG arrived in Srinagar’s Bota Kadal neighbourhood under heavy security. Along with other authorities, he was accompanied by the ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bhiduri, SSP Srinagar Rakesh Balwal, and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Muhammad Aijaz Asad. When speaking to KNO, ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that the parade was proceeding calmly.

Shia mourners also praised LG for getting in touch with them and complimented the government for making sure that there were excellent preparations. “We are delighted to have LG Sahib here with us today. For us, it is a proud occasion. The administration’s arrangements are appropriate, he added. (KNO)
