Kandy, September 1: The weather prediction called for rain on Saturday, which might dampen supporters’ anticipation for the pivotal Asia Cup 2023 match between India and Pakistan.

Prior to the highly anticipated match on Saturday, the weather on Friday was gloomy, and no clear skies are expected. However, following the pre-match news conference on Friday, Pakistan and India will arrive for the practise session.

On Saturday, the area around Kandy is expected to have thunderstorms with an 80% probability of rain.

On Saturday in Kandy, India will face Pakistan in the first match of their Asia Cup campaign. For the first time since the T20i World Cup 2022 last year, the bitter rivals square off.

Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka are in Group B, while Pakistan, India, and Nepal are in Group A.

Pakistan will host four matches over two locations during the event, while Sri Lanka will host the other matches. The Super Fours will start on September 6 after the six group-stage games.

The top two teams will meet in the final on September 17 in Colombo after the conclusion of the Super Fours.

Indian team members are Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna. The captain of the team is Rohit Sharma.
