At the closing ceremony of the Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF)-2023 in Kolkatta on July 17, the J&K Tourism stand received an award for its presentation and design.

On the last day of the three-day exhibition, which was attended by delegates from participating nations, States and UTs, and organizations operating in different tourist sectors throughout the country, CEO, Fairfest Media, Sanjiv Aggarwal presented J&K with the prize. The importance of stakeholders and visitors in maintaining tourism’s ecological and future viability were also emphasized throughout the presentation. The endeavors of the Government to maintain and increase visitor numbers to the UT by bettering visitors’ experiences and offering additional services and goods were also discussed in the presentation.

During the presentation, the delegates were informed of the government’s new homestay policy, its commitment to lowering carbon emissions at tourist hotspots, its plans to expand into emerging markets such as adventure tourism, horticultural tourism, heritage tourism, meeting and incentive travel, and its plans to better integrate local art and craft into these industries. The delegates were told that a tourist-specific helpdesk had been established to better the grievance redressal procedure.

Potential tourists, travel agencies, and journalists all flocked to the J&K Tourism booth at the TTF to learn more about what the UT has to offer in terms of the tourism industry. The whole travel sector in the Eastern portion of the nation, especially West Bengal, and beyond converged on the exhibition to network and do business. The three-day tourist festival included the participation of almost 400 exhibitors from around the nation and several foreign exhibitors, including those from Thailand, Mauritius, and South Africa.

The Tourism Department had made all the necessary preparations expecting a significant number of tour operators and hotels from J&K to attend this year’s expo, and they did not disappoint.
