Awantipora, September 19: As part of ongoing efforts to rid society of the drug problem, police in Awantipora have detained a drug dealer and seized contraband from his hands.

At a checkpoint set up at Nukdi Crossing Bathnoor, a police team commanded by SHO Police Station Tral and supervised by SDPO Tral detained a suspicious individual. 570 grammes of a drug like Charas were discovered in his possession during the search. Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Nukidi Bathnoor Tral, has been identified as the man. He has been detained in the police station since his arrest and transfer.

As a result, a case has been filed at Police Station Tral under FIR No. 108/2023 in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, and an investigation has begun.
