Bandipora police arrest a drug dealer

Bandipora, September 9: As part of ongoing efforts to rid society of the drug problem, police there have detained a drug dealer and seized a psychotropic substance from his hands.

Amir Rashid Sheikh, a resident of Shilvat Sumbal, was operating a Creta automobile when it was stopped by a PS Sumbal police team at a checkpoint set up near Trigam Sumbal Crossing. 33 bottles of codeine phosphate and Rs 15,000 in cash (the profits of a drug crime) were found in his hands during the search. He has been taken into custody, and the car that was used to do the crime has also been taken.

As a result, a complaint has been filed at PS Sumbal under the appropriate legal provisions, and an investigation has begun.
