Lucknow, Aug. 23: Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), reaffirmed on Wednesday that she will run unopposed in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

A conference in Lucknow about the Lok Sabha elections was presided over by Mayawati. Akash Anand, her nephew, was also present for the meeting.

“While participating in any alliances, the party has experienced losses rather than benefits. The party would thus contest the elections on its own, she said.

According to Mayawati, “In previous elections, the party suffered losses rather than gains when in coalition with any party, since the BSP’s support was shifted to the other alliance partner. However, other parties lack the motivation and capability to shift their voters to BSP. The morale of the party’s workers and leaders suffers as a result. As a result, our party keeps an equal distance from coalitions with the government and the opposition.

She also denounced the casteist and anti-communal policies of the BJP. “The BJP is losing both its support base and its influence. This procedure will carry on indefinitely. As a result, rather from being lopsided, the Lok Sabha elections will turn out to be quite entertaining and give the nation’s politics a fresh spin.
