Funding for J&K totaling Rs 5.11 Cm over 3 years: Work and Community Development Ministry

Mission Youth, Jammu and Kashmir, approved an outlay of Rs 238 Cr for self-employment cases under the customised livelihood schemes Mumkin and Tejaswini schemes on August 4 in Srinagar. The goal is to fund 1875 applications for multi-utility vehicles and 1000 women’s enterprises over the next two months.

During the current fiscal year, the Governing Body of Mission Youth, led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, authorised a variety of youth empowerment programmes.

Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, previously examined the development of Mission Youth and underlined saturation within several initiatives. In a meeting with Deputy Commissioners, Principal Secretary of the Finance Department Santosh D Vaidya underlined the importance of Mission Youth initiatives and approved the need for money under different programmes for which the DLTFs have already cleared the corresponding cases.

Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, CEO of Mission Youth, recently shared that this year, the government of Jammu and Kashmir is aiming for unprecedented youth engagement across all of its youth empowerment initiatives, but especially in the areas of self-employment, coaching, education, fellowships, innovation, sports, and skilling. The budget office has allocated 45 billion rupees to important programmes.

Dr. Shahid Choudhary elaborated, saying that a total of 1,875,000 cases had been approved under the Mumkin scheme, with an expenditure of 188,000,000, of which 15,000,000,000 had been released by the Finance department as a subsidy component, 15,000,000,000 had been committed by the vehicle manufacturer partners, and 1,000,000 was sponsored by the Jammu and Kashmir bank. The Tejaswini initiatives have received similar funding; the Finance Department has allocated 10 CRP and the J&K Bank has pledged 40 CRP.
