His death was discovered inexplicably close to his residence when a police crew led by SHO PS Bomai, Bilal Khanday, looked for him in response to the allegation. After being extracted from a capped sewage trench, the corpse was brought to the Sub District Hospital Sopore to get the required medical attention, according to the SSP. Following the incident, Police Station Bomai received FIR No. 46/2023. Under the direction of Syed Gazanfer, SDPO Zaingeer, an investigation was conducted, and it was discovered that Reyaz’s wife was involved in extramarital affairs with a local man who had confessed to planning and carrying out a murder. Additionally, items used in criminal activity have been found and retrieved. Investigations are under progress, and both are being held.

The SSP said that a small number of news sites are participating in media trials involving impacted youngsters and that they should stop doing so as it is impeding investigations at the crime scene.

He went on, “There will be strict action against such portals.” The Zaloora Murder event has generated a lot of worrying media coverage, according to Baramulla Adv. Waseem Hassan, Chairperson of the Children Welfare Committee (CWC), who advised the media to stop. He said that it has been seen that a small number of Facebook news sites have been following the impacted children’s stories in the media, which is not a justifiable action. He said, “We have taken the matter seriously and have asked the police to proceed appropriately.” “There’s no need to worry; the children are safe. However, professional media outlets have a moral obligation to refrain from acting in a way that offends people.”

Likewise, in order to shield the impacted children from further damage, DIPR Baramulla has requested that the media outlets and websites remove the offending information. “It is quite concerning that the thoughts and comments of the deceased’s children were misconstrued during the tragic episode in the murder case in Zaloora (Sopore) due to unethical reporting.

Media organizations should follow moral guidelines and behavior while respecting the rights and integrity of those who are more vulnerable, they urged. Notably, a father of four children was discovered dead in Zaloora hamlet in Sopore, north Kashmir, on Friday morning. His neighbors and family members said he had been murdered, and they urged the police to look into the case.

Reyaz was a father of four children—three girls and one son—and was very modest, devout, and religious, according to his family and the neighbors around his home. “Suicide is an extreme action that Riyaz would never have performed. It seems to be a murder case that requires a full investigation, as they had previously stated.
