Central Kashmir's security measures are reassessed in light of Independence Day

On August 6, DIG Central Kashmir Range Sujit Singh presided over a high-level conference at the District Police Office in Srinagar to review ongoing investigations and charges filed under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and the National Disaster Protection Act.

The SSP of Srinagar, Rakesh Balwal, as well as the SPs of South, Gaurav Sirwarkar, and East were present at the meeting.

Cases filed under these statutes were reviewed by the DIG. He provided guidelines for maintaining high standards of research and for closely following the cases throughout trial. The DIG further emphasised the need for strong cooperation among the police, the prosecution, and the witnesses. He also emphasised the need of using modern technology to conduct thorough investigations and fair trials.

The DIG reviewed pressing cases and provided immediate supervisory instructions.
