It is August 10 in Srinagar. Tarun Chugh, national general secretary of the BJP, placed the blame for the atrocities committed against the Kahmiri Pandits since 1989 on the Abdullah and Mufti families.

Chugh said that both the Abdullah and the Mufti families worked closely with the Pakistani ISI to facilitate the widespread slaughter of Pandits and the subsequent exodus of the community from the state in the 1990s.

Chugh vehemently disagreed with what Farooq Abdullah said in Parliament, calling it a “bunch of lies,” when Abdullah claimed that his government had tried to defend the Kashmirir Pandits in 1989. He claimed that Abdullah was in on the plan to persecute the Kahsmirir Pandits and drive them from the state via acts of violence like murder and rape.

He claimed that the Abdullahs and Muftis had led J&K to the brink of collapse through their anti-national tactics.

We applaud Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to repeal Article 370. According to Chugh, people in J&K have begun a new, more progressive way of life since then. They talk about improving their community rather than locking people up and throwing stones.

He claimed the Abdullahs and Muftis want to return J&K to a time of bloodshed and unrest, but that their anti-national schemes will fail now that people are aware of their evil political plots.
