On August 6th, members of the Tulmulla civil society, together with volunteers, students, and local youth, cleaned up water bodies in the Tulmulla neighbourhood of the Ganderbal district.

Seventy-plus members of Tulmulla’s Civil Society got together to clean up the lake and return it to its former grandeur. The volunteers cleaned up the area and got rid of weeds so that the spring water would be better.

According to Greater Kashmir, Manzoor Wani, Chairman of Civil Society in Tullamulla, believes that such initiatives should be supported since they teach people the importance of doing their part to protect the region’s water resources. He asked that people should use garbage cans and not litter the area surrounding any bodies of water.

According to local citizen Bilal Ahmed, the goal of the campaign is to inspire residents to take action in protecting the quality of the water sources across the valley.
