Bhaderwah: A cloudburst in Doda district’s Kota Nullah early Saturday morning flooded a portion of the Thaleela-Chiralla link road. After a cloudburst early Saturday morning, the Thaleela-Chiralla connecting road washed away, according to SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar.

“The cloud burst and heavy rains caused Kota Nullah mudslides and flooding. No one was hurt. Zargar said men and machines cleared debris off the road and rebuilt it quickly.

He said the Doda-Kishtwar route, blocked owing to cloudburst between Shiva Pull and Thathri Petrol Pump, was reopened for two-way traffic.

On the third day Saturday, severe rains in most areas of Doda and Kishtwar districts raised water levels in the Chenab and its main tributaries including Neeru and Kalnai.

Doda district government advises residents to avoid streams, rivers, and other sensitive areas.
